TenBox is designed to be the ultimate storage expansion device for your DirecTV Plus HD DVR. It is a high-quality High Definition and Multimedia eSATA storage box created with reliability, silence, performance and aesthetics in mind.

Many DirecTV subscribers enjoy the versatility and ease-of-operation of the DirecTV Plus HR20 DVR, but most agree that its 300GB capacity is not enough. Too often it is necessary to delete unwatched programs in order to make room for newer recordings.
With TenBox as a companion to the HR20 and HR21, you can increase your recording capacity to as much as two terabytes (2000 GB); that is 660% more than the original recording capacity of your DVR. Specifically, that translates to over 1300 hours of regular (standard-definition) programming, or as much as 330 hours of HD (high-definition) programming!

TenBox solves the heating problem with the use of three extra silent fans utilizing magnetic levitatoin technology, and specially designed heat dissipating hardware which keeps the system within the appropriate operating temperature range at all times. A specialized cooling mode switch allows for selection of quiet or maximum depending on the operating environment.
Noises such as clicks and hums may be considered acceptable for an office or studio, however they are annoying and unnacceptable in a living room or bedroom, especially during the quiet night hours. TenBox minimizes noise using the best and most silent hard disk drives. Drives and fans are mounted on custom hardware with special anti-vibration materials, reducing noise and hum to almost zero.
TenBox exterior is a stylish box designed for aesthetics and to match your DirecTV Plus HD DVR. The chassis is a graphite color, metallic enclosure with blue accented LEDs and blue ring power switch. It will blend in with furnishings and high end TV, video and audio equipment.
TenBox connects with the HR20 via the eSATA port, making communication and programming transfers fast and accurate.
TenBox is easy to operate, just plug the eSATA cable to the HR20, restart the receiver and you are done!

RAID SATA controller with Plug-n-Play capability, the TenBox is also compatible with Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux environments.
The TenBox can be configured in two ways with the flip of a switch on the back of the unit. In RAID LEVEL 0 mode, the TenBox provides as much recording capacity as possible; as much as TWO terabytes of recording capacity will become available to your DVR once it is plugged in and running. In RAID LEVEL 1 mode, the TenBox will mirror all of the data from one drive onto the other. That means if either drive in the unit fails, your data will be secure. Your TenBox will indicate that there is a problem, and as long as you have your unit serviced quickly, your data will always be safe. |
